President Donald Trump announced that the United States will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, marking the second time his administration has taken this step. The decision was confirmed by the White House on Monday, shortly after his inauguration as the 47th president, and was one of his first acts after taking office. Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the US from the international agreement, stating, 'I am immediately withdrawing from the unfair one-sided Paris Climate Accord ripoff. The United States will not sabotage our own industries while China pollutes with impunity.' The move places the US alongside Iran, Libya, and Yemen as the only countries not participating in the 2015 pact aimed at limiting global warming. This action repeats a move Trump took during his first term, which was later reversed by President Joe Biden.
