ABC News and George Stephanopoulos Settle Defamation Lawsuit with Trump, Pay $15 Million and Publicly Apologize

ABC News and anchor George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement with Donald Trump regarding a defamation lawsuit. As part of the agreement, ABC will pay Trump $15 million and issue a public apology. The lawsuit stemmed from a statement made by Stephanopoulos, in which he claimed Trump was 'liable for r*aping' E. Jean Carroll. The settlement allows both parties to avoid a trial. Additionally, ABC News will contribute the settlement amount to a charitable foundation and museum to be established for Trump.
