UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel on Wednesday in what authorities describe as a "brazen, targeted" and "premeditated" attack. Police have released surveillance images of the suspect, who is believed to have arrived in New York City from Atlanta on November 24, ten days before the shooting, traveling by bus. The suspect reportedly used a fake ID to book his bus ride and lodging. After the attack, the gunman escaped on a bicycle, then took a cab, and is believed to have fled the city on a bus. A backpack carried by the suspect was found in Central Park, containing ammunition with a message scrawled on it. The manhunt for the suspect continues as police work to identify and apprehend him.
