Steelers Defeat Bengals 41-24 as Burrow's Turnovers Prove Costly
Dec 1, 2024, 08:42 PM
The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a score of 41-24. The Steelers' offense had a standout performance, scoring over 40 points for the first time since 2018. At halftime, the Steelers led 27-21, marking the first time they scored 27 or more points in the first half since 2016. The Steelers had no punts in the first half and averaged 8.6 yards per play. Donte Jackson intercepted Bengals' quarterback Joe Burrow, who also lost two fumbles during the game. Nick Herbig beat Orlando Brown Jr. for a strip sack of Burrow, resulting in a touchdown by Payton Wilson. Despite Joe Burrow connecting with Ja'Marr Chase on a jump pass touchdown and later throwing a touchdown to Tee Higgins, the Bengals' defense struggled, allowing over 8.5 yards per play in the first half for the third time this season. The loss puts the Bengals' playoff hopes in jeopardy.
