Miramar Fire at Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego Covers 4 Acres

A brush fire, dubbed the Miramar Fire, has broken out at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. The fire, which started around 2:27 pm, is currently estimated to cover approximately 4 acres. Efforts to combat the fire include the use of helicopters, specifically Copter 3, which has been dropping water on the blaze. The spread of the fire is reported as moderate, and while no structures are currently threatened, smoke from the fire is visible across various San Diego communities. The fire was initially thought to have started near I-15 but has been confirmed to have originated on the base itself.
