Russia Grants Asylum to Syria's Ousted President Assad and Family on Humanitarian Grounds

Russian state media agency TASS reported that Syria's ousted President Bashar al-Assad and his family have arrived in Moscow, where they have been granted asylum by Russia. Citing Kremlin sources, TASS indicated that Russia granted asylum to Assad and his family on humanitarian grounds. "Assad and members of his family arrived in Moscow. Russia, based on humanitarian considerations, granted them asylum," the source said. The move comes after Assad and his family fled Syria.
