Third Drone Attack: Ukrainian Drones Strike Grozny's OMON Base; Kadyrov Confirms
Dec 15, 2024, 08:49 AM
In the early morning around 6 am on December 15, 2024, drones struck military targets in Grozny, the capital of Russia's Chechnya region. The attack targeted the OMON 'Akhmat-Grozny' base belonging to Russia’s National Guard, as well as other special forces facilities. Russian media and local residents reported multiple explosions, with sources indicating at least three drones were involved in the attack. The drones are believed to be Ukrainian, possibly converted Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat aircraft or E-300 UAVs capable of long-range missions, flying approximately 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed the strike but stated there were no casualties and did not provide details on the extent of the damage. This marks the third such drone attack in Chechnya recently.
