Nicki Minaj Faces Lawsuit and Possible Criminal Charges Over Alleged Assault on Former Manager Brandon Garrett During Pink Friday 2 Tour in Detroit
Jan 4, 2025, 04:00 PM
Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit from her former day-to-day manager, Brandon Garrett, who alleges assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The incident reportedly occurred in April 2024 backstage at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit during Minaj's Pink Friday 2 tour. Garrett claims that Minaj became upset after learning he had delegated the task of picking up her prescription to another employee, Luke Montgomery. According to the lawsuit, Minaj verbally threatened Garrett, saying his 'life was over,' before allegedly striking him on the right side of his face and on his wrist. Following the alleged assault, Garrett locked himself in a bathroom for hours out of fear for his safety. Minaj's lawyer, Judd Burstein, has denied the allegations, describing them as 'completely false and frivolous,' and stated that no formal complaint has been served to Minaj. The Detroit Police have sent a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for review, which could lead to criminal charges against Minaj.
