Nigeria has finalized a purchase of 43 Bayraktar TB2 unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) from Turkey as part of its efforts to enhance counter-insurgency operations, particularly in the North-West region of the country. The acquisition was confirmed by Brigadier General U.G. Ogeleka, the Commander of the Nigerian Army Space Command, during a ceremony for newly trained drone pilots. This deal positions Nigeria as the largest user of Turkish-made armed drones in Africa, reflecting a significant step in the country's military capabilities against terrorist groups.
