Dec 10, 2024, 06:24 PM
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva underwent emergency surgery in the early hours of Tuesday for an intracranial hemorrhage. The 79-year-old president was treated at a hospital in São Paulo after experiencing severe headaches. His medical team reported that he is in stable condition and expected to be discharged next week. The hemorrhage was caused by the rupture of blood vessels in the brain, and Lula will require additional days of rest following the procedure. Doctors explained that Lula felt a headache and underwent an MRI in Brasilia which revealed the brain hemorrhage.
