Elon Musk's xAI Launches Grok's Free Photorealistic Image Generator, Drops 'Aurora' Name
Dec 9, 2024, 07:48 PM
Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI, has launched a photorealistic image generator integrated into its Grok AI chatbot, initially known as 'Aurora'. The tool allows users to generate up to four high-quality images simultaneously with minimal restrictions and is now accessible to all users on X (formerly Twitter) for free. After a brief rollout and temporary removal, the image generation capabilities have been reinstated, with xAI deciding to drop the 'Aurora' name and consolidate the features under Grok. Elon Musk commented on the rebranding, stating, 'Just think of Grok as doing anything.' The company has also announced that image editing capabilities will be added soon.
