Jan 20, 2025, 08:33 AM
Chinese authorities executed a man on Monday for a deadly car attack that took place in November last year, according to state media reports. Fan Weiqiu, 62, was executed in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, after being convicted of driving his vehicle into a crowd at a sports center on November 11, killing 35 people and injuring 43 others. The Zhuhai Intermediate People's Court sentenced Fan to death on December 27, and the execution order was issued by the Supreme People's Court. The attack was reportedly motivated by Fan's dissatisfaction following his divorce. The execution highlights China's swift justice system in cases of mass attacks.
