Luigi Mangione Indicted on Terrorism-Related First-Degree Murder Charges in Killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson

Luigi Mangione, 26, was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury on charges of first-degree murder and second-degree murder as an act of terrorism for the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4 outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel. Mangione was arrested on December 9 in Pennsylvania and is expected to waive extradition and return to New York to face charges. The indictment, announced on December 17 by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, includes charges under terrorism statutes.
