The death toll from the December 20 attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market has risen to six after a 52-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries, prosecutors announced on January 6. The vehicle-ramming attack resulted in six fatalities and 299 injuries. The suspect, a Saudi national, had been involved in seven prior investigations between April 2023 and October 2024, including two cases where he was the accused. Reports indicate he had been under police scrutiny for prior investigations and threats.
