The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has issued new mandatory evacuation orders for areas affected by the Palisades Fire, which has grown to 21,317 acres with 8% containment. The fire has resulted in the destruction of 5,316 structures and has claimed five lives. The latest evacuation orders cover the area from Sunset Boulevard north to Encino Reservoir, and from the 405 Freeway west to Mandeville Canyon. This region was previously under an evacuation warning but has now been upgraded to a mandatory evacuation order. The fire, which started near 1190 N Piedra Morada Dr in Pacific Palisades, continues to pose a significant threat to the region.
