Family of Pregnant Woman Who Died Post-AstraZeneca Vaccine to Receive Over R$ 1 Million
Dec 7, 2024, 02:29 PM
The family of Thais Possati, a 35-year-old woman who was 23 weeks pregnant when she died shortly after receiving the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine in April 2021, will receive over R$ 1 million in compensation. AstraZeneca has admitted that the vaccine was not tested on pregnant women. This case has raised concerns about the safety of vaccines for pregnant individuals, especially as the CDC recently recommended a novel Hepatitis B vaccine during pregnancy despite limited studies on its effects, including a retrospective cohort study of 75 women and a rat study.
