White Helmets End Search at Sednaya Prison, Symbol of Repression, Without Finding Hidden Cells
Dec 10, 2024, 05:57 AM
The White Helmets, officially known as the Syrian Civil Defense, have concluded their search operation at Sednaya prison near Damascus, Syria. The operation, which involved five specialized teams equipped for search-and-rescue, wall breaching, and K9 operations, aimed to find additional prisoners believed to be held in hidden cells or underground facilities. However, the search yielded no evidence of such hidden locations or additional detainees. Sednaya prison, managed by the Military Police of the ousted regime of Bashar Al Assad, has been a symbol of repression in the region, and the search concluded without finding any hidden cells.
