Yuri Eliaspov and Georgy Andreev Arrested for Alleged Espionage for Iran Involving Iron Dome

The Shin Bet and Israel Police have arrested two Israeli reservists, Yuri Eliaspov and Georgy Andreev, on suspicion of espionage for Iran. One of the reservists allegedly transferred classified material related to the Iron Dome system, which he obtained during his service in the air defense unit, to Iranian officials. The arrests were made following a coordinated operation between the Shin Bet and Lahav 433, the National Crime Unit of the Israel Police, in the Krayot area. The suspects were involved in security-related tasks for an Iranian operative in exchange for financial compensation. Eliaspov had been in contact with the operative for several months, executing tasks such as spraying graffiti with the message 'Children of Ruhollah' across Israel. Andreev was recruited by Eliaspov with the promise of financial rewards. The investigation revealed that Eliaspov received at least $2500 for his actions, and both suspects were aware they were working for an Iranian operative. The Shin Bet and Israel Police have warned the public to avoid contact with foreign operatives and to report any suspicious activities.
