Alexander Lukashenko has been officially registered as a candidate for the upcoming presidential election in Belarus, set to take place on January 26, 2025. This marks his seventh bid for the presidency. The Central Election Commission of Belarus announced that Lukashenko collected 2,518,145 signatures to support his candidacy. The registration period for presidential candidates in Belarus will run from December 22 to December 31. Following registration, the pre-election campaign will occur from January 1 to January 25, 2025. Additionally, the Central Election Commission has accredited 93 international observers for the election, including representatives from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), parliamentarians, and independent observers.
