The resignation was accepted by party leader Jacob Zuma, who expressed gratitude for Mthanti's contributions. The party is now in the process of appointing a successor. Mthanti's departure comes just a month after his appointment, amid reports of internal strife within the party. Despite resigning from his official role, Mthanti will remain a member of the MK Party's National High Command.
