Houthis Release Galaxy Leader Crew After Omani Mediation, Supporting Gaza Ceasefire
Jan 22, 2025, 02:59 PM
Yemen's Houthi rebels have released the crew of the Galaxy Leader, a cargo ship operated by Japan's Nippon Yusen (NYK Line), which they seized in November 2023 in the Red Sea. The 25-member multinational crew, including two Mexican sailors, was handed over to Omani authorities following mediation efforts and at the request of Hamas. The release comes as part of efforts to support the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
