Netflix Increases Prices for Ad-Supported, Standard, and Premium Tiers, Adds 19 Million Subscribers
Jan 21, 2025, 09:31 PM
Netflix Inc. has announced an increase in subscription prices across several of its plans in the United States, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina. The ad-supported tier in the U.S. will now cost $7.99 per month, up from $6.99, marking the first price hike for this plan since its introduction. The Standard plan without ads will rise from $15.49 to $17.99 per month, while the Premium tier will increase by $2 to $24.99 per month. The cost of adding an Extra Member to a primary account is also increasing from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. These changes come as Netflix reported a record-breaking addition of 19 million subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2024, alongside its Q4 earnings results. The company cited ongoing investments in programming as the reason for the price adjustments, aiming to continue delivering value to its members.
