The Israeli Shin Bet has revealed that Iranian operatives have attempted approximately 200 cyberattacks targeting Israeli citizens, including prominent public figures, security officials, politicians, academics, and journalists. These attacks aimed to infiltrate personal devices such as emails, computers, and smartphones to gather sensitive information. The Shin Bet, in a Monday statement, disclosed that the campaign was designed to monitor movements and potentially prepare for physical attacks. Separately, the Silicon Company, alleged to be a cover for Israel's Intelligence Unit 8200, reported a significant cyberattack attributed to the Iranian hacker group Handala. The company has denied any affiliation with Unit 8200.
