South Korea's Joint Investigation Headquarters Suspends Execution of President Yoon's Arrest Warrant
Jan 3, 2025, 04:39 AM
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol's legal team announced that they consider the execution of the arrest warrant against him illegal and invalid, and plan to take legal action. The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) had issued the warrant, but President Yoon's side challenged its legitimacy. At 1:30 pm, the Joint Investigation Headquarters decided to suspend the execution of the arrest warrant, stating that they deemed it impossible to carry out at this time. The authorities expressed deep regret over the situation and will review future measures regarding the warrant.
