Vice President JD Vance engaged in a heated exchange with CBS anchor Margaret Brennan on 'Face the Nation' regarding the vetting of immigrants entering the United States. Vance asserted, "We absolutely cannot unleash thousands of unvetted people into our country." When Brennan claimed, "These people are vetted!", Vance countered by asking, "Just like the guy who planned a terrorist attack in Oklahoma a few months ago?" He referenced a recent case of an Afghan national in Oklahoma charged with conspiring to carry out a terrorist attack on Election Day on behalf of the Islamic State, noting that he was allegedly "properly vetted." Brennan responded, "It wasn't clear if he was radicalized when he got here," to which Vance replied, "I don't really care, Margaret. I don't want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me."
