Texas Deploys Over 400 Soldiers, C-130s, and Chinook Helicopters to Rio Grande Valley Border
Jan 27, 2025, 05:19 PM
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed over 400 soldiers from the Texas Tactical Border Force to the U.S.-Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley. The deployment, which includes C-130s and Chinook helicopters, is aimed at collaborating with U.S. Border Patrol agents to enhance border security. The soldiers departed from military bases in Fort Worth and Houston. This move comes in response to President Donald Trump's declaration of a border emergency and reflects a coordinated effort between the state of Texas and the federal government to address illegal immigration. The Texas Tactical Border Force will join thousands of Texas National Guard soldiers already stationed at the border as part of Operation Lone Star, which has been ongoing since March 2021.
