Over the weekend, a gang leader in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, ordered the massacre of at least 184 people in the Cite Soleil slum, according to reports from the United Nations and human rights organizations. The gang leader, Monel "Mikano" Felix of the Viv Ansanm gang, allegedly targeted elderly residents over the age of 60, accusing them of practicing witchcraft that he believed caused his child's illness or death. The victims were reportedly attacked with knives and machetes.
