Yemen's Houthis Use Hypersonic Missile and Drone to Strike Israeli Power Station and Military Target in Jaffa
Jan 3, 2025, 01:31 PM
The Houthi rebels in Yemen, aligned with Iran, have claimed responsibility for launching two military operations against Israeli targets in the occupied region of Jaffa. The first operation involved a hypersonic ballistic missile, identified as 'Palestine 2', targeting an Israeli power station east of Jaffa. The second operation used a drone to strike a military target in the same area. These attacks were confirmed by the Yemeni Armed Forces' spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, who stated that both operations successfully hit their intended targets. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported intercepting a missile and a drone from Yemen, with the missile setting off sirens in central Israel. The IDF's interception of the missile resulted in shrapnel falling in the area of Modi'in, central Israel. The Houthis have vowed to continue their attacks on Israel until the IDF withdraws from Gaza.
