Tesla Model 3 Becomes Double Five-Star Model in China, Passes Drill-and-Crash Test with 1/8 Fire Risk
Dec 4, 2024, 11:59 AM
The Tesla Model 3 has achieved significant safety recognition in China, becoming the only vehicle to successfully pass the country's drill-and-crash truck test, which assesses the A-pillar's integrity, a critical component for crash safety. Additionally, the Model 3 has received top ratings in both the China Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Index (C-EVFI) and the Automotive Fire Safety Certification, marking it as a 'Double Five-Star Model.' According to Tesla's China Vice President, Tao Lin, the vehicle's fire safety performance is noteworthy, as Tesla cars are statistically only one-eighth as likely to catch fire compared to gasoline vehicles. Over the past six years, Tesla has not issued any recalls related to fire risks, underscoring its commitment to safety in the electric vehicle market.
