ABC News and anchor George Stephanopoulos have agreed to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by President-elect Donald Trump by paying $15 million, an additional $1 million in attorney fees, and issuing a public apology. The lawsuit stemmed from statements made by Stephanopoulos, in which he asserted that Trump was found liable for rape in a case involving E. Jean Carroll. As part of the settlement, ABC News will contribute $15 million to Trump's presidential library and issue statements expressing regret for the remarks.
