Coinbase Adds MOODENG and MOG Coin to Listing Roadmap; MOODENG Soars 80%, Hits $635M Market Cap

Coinbase has announced plans to add two memecoins, Moo Deng (MOODENG) on the Solana network and MOG Coin (MOG) on the Base chain, to its listing roadmap. MOODENG, inspired by a small hippopotamus popular in Thailand and which went viral due to a baby hippo video on TikTok, is less than three months old. Following the announcement, MOODENG's price surged 80% in an hour, with its market cap soaring from $297 million to as high as $635 million, a 95% increase. The coin has caught the attention of major investors, with Wintermute holding $35.39 million worth of MOODENG, making it its top holding. MOG Coin, the first Base chain memecoin to be added to Coinbase's roadmap, also experienced a significant price jump of around 20%. The inclusion of these memecoins marks a continued expansion of Coinbase’s asset offerings, signaling that memecoins are evolving into serious market players.
