Trump Says He Will "Act Very Quickly" to Pardon Jan. 6 Defendants on Day One
Dec 8, 2024, 04:19 PM
President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he intends to act on pardoning individuals charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol on his first day in office. In an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" with Kristen Welker, Trump stated that he would "most likely" pardon Jan. 6 defendants, saying he would be "acting very quickly" and emphasizing that "these people have been in there for years" and are "living in hell" in "a filthy, disgusting place that shouldn't even be allowed to be open." He noted that he would "look at individual cases."
