Raiders' Brock Bowers, 13th Overall Pick, Nears Rookie TE Receiving Record at 1,052 Yards
Dec 22, 2024, 09:36 PM
Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers has achieved a historic milestone by surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in the 2024 NFL season, becoming only the third rookie tight end in NFL history to do so. Bowers reached this mark with a 32-yard catch during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The other two rookie tight ends to accomplish this feat were Mike Ditka in 1961 with 1,076 yards and Kyle Pitts in 2021 with 1,026 yards. Bowers, who was selected by the Raiders with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, now has 1,052 yards and is just 24 yards away from breaking Ditka's record as the Raiders have two more games left in the season. Bowers has been a standout performer, with notable games including 13 catches for 126 yards and a touchdown against Miami, and 10 catches for 140 yards and a touchdown against Kansas City.
