Yemen's Houthis Fire Hypersonic Missiles at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport and Power Station, Also Target USS Harry S. Truman
Dec 31, 2024, 06:40 AM
Yemen's Houthi rebels, supported by Iran, have claimed responsibility for launching two ballistic missile attacks on Israel. The first missile, identified as a hypersonic Palestine 2 missile, targeted Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, and the second, a Zulfiqar missile, aimed at a power station south of Jerusalem. These attacks were carried out concurrently with a drone and missile strike against the USS Harry S. Truman, an American aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, stated that the missiles successfully hit their targets. The Israeli military reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen, which led to sirens sounding across central Israel. Fragments of the intercepted missile were found in Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem. The Houthis have vowed to continue their operations until the aggression against Gaza ceases and the blockade is lifted.
