These operations, which began on Saturday with pre-dawn roundups, are set to continue seven days a week. The raids are part of a larger effort promised by President Trump during his campaign to deport criminal migrants from major U.S. cities. ICE agents are reportedly working overtime to expedite these efforts, and the operations have been designed to avoid areas affected by recent wildfires in Southern California. Those arrested in Los Angeles are being held in ICE detention centers pending deportation. The White House is utilizing military planes daily to support what has been described as the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. On the day the operations began, ICE reported arresting 593 criminals across the U.S. and lodging 449 detainer requests with local authorities.
