Trump Signs Order to Combat Antisemitism: Deport Pro-Hamas Students, Investigate Campus Anti-Jewish Racism
Jan 29, 2025, 06:25 PM
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing federal agencies to combat antisemitism, particularly on college campuses, following the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks in Israel. The order requires federal agencies to report within 60 days on tools available to fight antisemitism and calls for identifying and deporting foreign students who participated in pro-Hamas or anti-Israel protests and have violated U.S. laws. Trump stated, 'To all the resident aliens who joined in the pro-jihadist protests, we put you on notice: come 2025, we will find you, and we will deport you.' The order also instructs the Department of Justice to investigate and punish anti-Jewish racism on campuses. Additionally, universities are directed to monitor and report activities of foreign students and staff who may be involved in antisemitic actions.
