Mossad Assassinates Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran Before Iran's President Inauguration, Despite AC Malfunction
Dec 28, 2024, 09:01 PM
Israeli Channel 12 has reported new details regarding the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the former head of the Hamas politburo, in Tehran. According to the investigation, Mossad carried out the assassination using a bomb planted in Haniyeh's room. The operation was timed to occur before the inauguration ceremony of Iran's new president, ensuring that no one else was killed in the blast. The bomb was strategically placed to target only Haniyeh. The report also revealed that the assassination plan nearly failed when the air conditioner in Haniyeh's room malfunctioned, causing him to leave the room for an extended period. However, the air conditioner was repaired by Iranian staff, allowing the operation to proceed as planned. Mossad had chosen Tehran over other potential locations like Moscow and Turkey due to geopolitical considerations, specifically concerns over Russia's reaction and NATO implications.
