At Mar-a-Lago, President-elect Trump Announces Plan to Rename Gulf of Mexico 'Gulf of America'
Jan 7, 2025, 05:01 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago that he plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the 'Gulf of America.' He stated, 'We're going to be announcing at a future date, pretty soon... We're going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring that covers a lot of territory. The Gulf of America, what a beautiful name. And it's appropriate.' Trump emphasized that the change reflects America's identity and leadership. He also suggested that Mexico needs to stop allowing millions of people to pour into the United States.
