France Warns Trump Over EU Borders After Greenland, Panama Canal Remarks

France has warned US President-elect Donald Trump against threatening the European Union's sovereign borders after his remarks about potentially taking control of Greenland. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated that the EU would not tolerate threats against its sovereign borders. "The EU will not allow any country to attack its sovereign borders," Barrot said in response to Trump's comments. On Tuesday, Trump suggested that he might use military force or economic pressure to regain control over Greenland, an autonomous territory of EU member Denmark, or the Panama Canal. EU leaders are increasingly concerned about Trump's remarks on Greenland and the Panama Canal.
