Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, the 39th president who served from 1977 to 1981, has died at the age of 100. He passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at his home in Plains, Georgia, according to his son. Elected in 1976, Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his efforts in resolving international conflicts. He was the oldest living U.S. president in history.
