Massachusetts Man Among Two Charged in Iran-Backed Drone Attack Killing Three US Soldiers
Dec 16, 2024, 10:29 PM
US prosecutors have charged two men, an Iranian national and a dual US-Iranian citizen residing in Natick, Massachusetts, in connection with a January 28 drone strike carried out by Iran-backed militants near the Syrian border in Jordan. The attack on the US military outpost known as Tower 22 resulted in the deaths of three US service members and injured more than 40 others. The men are accused of export violations and providing material support to Iran, supplying materials used in the fatal drone strike. FBI Boston Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen and US Attorney Joshua Levy announced the arrests, underscoring efforts to counter threats from Iran-backed groups.
