Ukraine Detains Two Generals and One Colonel for Kharkiv Defense Failure in May 2024

Ukraine has detained three senior military officers, including two generals and a colonel, for their alleged failure to stop Russian advances during the offensive in the Kharkiv region in May 2024. The officers detained are former commanders of the Kharkiv Operational Command, the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, and the 415th Rifle Battalion of the 23rd Mechanized Brigade. The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine, carried out the arrests. The detained officers face charges of negligence and inaction on the battlefield, which could lead to up to ten years in prison.
