A 28-year-old Afghan man was arrested after allegedly carrying out a knife attack on a daycare group in Aschaffenburg, Germany, that left two people dead, including a two-year-old boy of Moroccan descent, and several others injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday in Schöntal park, where the suspect attacked children from a kindergarten and their caregivers. A 41-year-old man, who reportedly showed courage by intervening to protect the children, was also killed. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz condemned the attack as "an unbelievable act of terror." Authorities stated that the suspect had prior violent offenses, mental health issues, and had been ordered to leave the country after his asylum application was denied. Police are investigating the incident and have ruled out the involvement of additional suspects.
