France's antitrust authority has imposed fines totaling €611 million on 12 household appliance manufacturers and distributors for price-fixing practices that occurred between 2007 and 2014. Among those penalized are notable companies such as Electrolux, Whirlpool, and LG. The fines are part of a broader crackdown on anti-competitive behavior in the market. Fnac-Darty, one of the companies involved, has reported that its share of the fine amounts to €109 million. The investigation revealed that these companies colluded to maintain high retail prices, violating competition laws.
