Fire Erupts at Bryant Park Winter Village, Forcing Evacuations; No Injuries Reported
Dec 27, 2024, 04:04 PM
A fire erupted at New York City's Bryant Park Winter Village holiday market on Friday morning, forcing evacuations and sending plumes of black smoke over Midtown Manhattan. The blaze started around 9:20 a.m. at a vendor stall near the park's ice skating rink on West 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Emergency crews from the FDNY responded promptly and quickly brought the fire under control. At least two booths were damaged in the incident, but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. This marks the second street fire in New York in less than two weeks.
