Oren, Alon, and Tal Alexander Denied Bail by Judge Caproni in NYC for Sex-Trafficking Charges

Oren, Alon, and Tal Alexander, three Miami-based brothers and luxury real estate brokers, have been denied bail and will remain in jail as they await trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. The decision was made by Judge Valerie E. Caproni in New York City, who deemed the brothers a flight risk and a danger to the community. The charges stem from allegations that the brothers, using their wealth and influence gained from brokering high-end properties, raped dozens of women over more than a decade, with some victims being minors. The indictment accuses the brothers of using deception, fraud, and coercion to lure victims to various locations before attacking them, and also engaging in opportunistic rapes. Prosecutors have spoken to over 40 women who claim to have been forcibly raped or sexually assaulted by at least one of the brothers, with each brother accused by at least 10 women. Some victims were allegedly drugged prior to the assaults. Despite the brothers' lawyers arguing for their release and offering a $115 million bail package, the judge was not persuaded, citing the strength of the evidence and the potential penalties if convicted, which include a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life. The brothers, who are married with children, were also found to have videos in their possession showing them with women in states of intoxication and undress.
