Airbus SE has confirmed plans to reduce its workforce by 2,043 jobs in its Defence and Space division, scaling back from an initial estimate of up to 2,500 job cuts. The layoffs, which will not involve compulsory actions, are set to occur by mid-2026. The cuts will affect various locations, with 689 positions eliminated in Germany, 540 in France, and 303 in Spain, representing approximately 6% of the division's workforce. This restructuring aims to streamline operations in Airbus's second-largest division.
