Jets' 14-Year Playoff Drought Continues with 32-26 OT Loss to Dolphins
Dec 8, 2024, 09:33 PM
The New York Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention after a 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins, marking the Jets' 14th consecutive season missing the playoffs—the longest active drought across the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and WNBA. Tua Tagovailoa led the Dolphins with 331 passing yards, including the game-winning touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith in overtime. Despite Aaron Rodgers throwing for 300 yards, the Jets could not secure the win. The Jets have now lost nine straight games in Miami and have suffered five losses this season after holding a lead in the fourth quarter, a franchise record. The Dolphins keep their slim playoff hopes alive with the victory.
