Jan 12, 2025, 09:14 AM
An explosion at a gas station in Yemen's Al-Bayda province, controlled by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, has resulted in at least 15 deaths and 67 injuries, according to the Houthi rebel-run Health Ministry. The incident occurred on Saturday in the Zaher district, triggering a massive fire that left vehicles charred and burning. The ministry reported that 40 of the injured are in critical condition, and rescue teams are searching for those reported missing. The cause of the explosion remains unclear. The Houthi rebels have been engaged in a civil war with Yemen's internationally recognized government for over a decade.
