Jan 4, 2025, 03:39 PM
Russian forces conducted an aerial attack on a residential building in the Svesa hromada of the Shostka district in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine, on January 4, 2025. The attack involved two guided glide bombs, which destroyed one block of the five-story building and injured at least 10 people, including a 2-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy. Emergency services evacuated 14 individuals from the site, and search and rescue operations are ongoing as there may still be people trapped under the rubble. The blast also caused significant structural damage, destroying 15 apartments and damaging 700 windows. The Sumy Oblast Military Administration and Prosecutor’s Office have condemned the attack, stating it violates international law. Sumy Oblast, located near Russia's border, remains vulnerable to frequent attacks.
